bampton village shop

We've extended our opening hours for spring! We are now open
Monday 8.30am–1pm
Tuesday 8.30am–12 noon
Wednesday 8.30am–1pm
Thursday to Saturday 8.30am–5pm
Sunday 10am–5pm

Bampton Shop offers a good selection of tinned goods and staples, snacks, confectionery and crisps, and more. We are always increasing our range of local produce, and the chiller cabinet has milk and butter from North Lakes Foods; free range eggs from Lakes Egg Company; bacon, sausages, meat and pies from Low Howgill Butchers at Appleby; and a selection of cheeses from Appleby Creamery.

Our off-licence is now also open, and we are very pleased to be offering  beers from three local breweries:  Appleby Bewery, Eden Brewery and Hawkshead, plus some lovely wines from local fruit winery High Cup Nick.

In the freezer you'll find vegetables, chips, bread, pies and more – and in the ice cream freezer we've a variety of flavours from Abbott Lodge farm at Clifton, and the English Lakes Ice Cream Company.

We also have cards by local artist Christine Longmire, who lives in the nearby village of Rosgill, and a selection of books by local authors, as well as some local OS maps.

Bampton Shop is  a newsagents, so you can pick up your daily paper here, and we also have a small selection of magazines on offer. There is also a part-time Community Post Office at the shop.

The shop is dog friendly – in fact, chances are you'll be greeted by Bert, our new head of security, when you come in. If you happen to have a dog biscuit in your pocket, he'll be very pleased to see you!
The Post Office is open three mornings a week:
Monday 9am–1pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 9am–12 noon

It is very important to us that we stock local goods and produce, so if  you are a local company or producer with products that you think might be of interest to our customers, please don't hesitate to get in touch – we'd love to talk to you.
